ProofCoffer is designed as a local-first proof record app. We do not sell user data, run ads inside the app, or require a ProofCoffer server account.
Information users choose to save
Users may save item names, receipts, warranty details, serial numbers, asset numbers, service dates, photos, files, notes, store details, store locations, payment type, subscription details, technician or installer names, scanned-by initials, business profile details, and software license information.
Where records are stored
- Records are stored locally on the user's device.
- Optional iCloud sync uses the user's private Apple iCloud database through CloudKit.
- Record payloads are protected with app-side encryption using a Keychain-backed key.
- Backup and transfer exports may include attachments and protected fields. Users should store backup files only somewhere trusted.
Permissions
- Camera access is used only when the user chooses to scan a barcode, serial number, or asset number.
- The flashlight is used only inside the scanner when the user turns it on.
- Notifications are used for user-selected warranty, service, plan renewal, and consumable replacement reminders.
- Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode authentication is used for app lock and protected license-code viewing.
- Location or map information is saved only when a user chooses to add a store or purchase location.
Language, themes, and accessibility
ProofCoffer may store local preferences such as selected language, display mode, theme, and accessibility-related interface choices. These preferences are used to make the app easier to read and operate.
Business and clinical-office use
ProofCoffer is for equipment, asset, warranty, receipt, vendor, service, and proof records. It is not designed to store patient records, medical charts, diagnosis information, payment-card numbers, or protected health information.
